A woman I go to church with, who is intelligent and kind, shared this on Facebook.
And it’s all I can do to not call her out for being a crazy racist terrible person.
People, man. They suck a lot.
ETA: I couldn’t help myself. This is a shitty thing to post. I commented, “Monica, not to start something… but this comes off as very racist and a little sexist. First off, facts: Laura Bush is reported to have about the same number of staffers, and many previous first ladies have had more. Her staff is pretty standard. Secondly, to take official or candid smiling shots of three white women and put them with one excited picture of a black woman just looks… racist. And the claim that women—intelligent, loving, successful women, all of which describe Michelle along with other First Ladies—can’t show excitement or passion is ludicrous. I’m sure I’ve made that exact face watching many a KU game. We all get excited sometimes, and I just don’t think this seems like a kind or Christian thing to post.”

Jimmy Kimmel: What if we forget? What if I forget to vote?
Michelle Obama: If you forget? Well, I have a plan for that, Jimmy.

Meryl Streep about her first meeting with Michelle Obama - Times Talks 2009

See, I would have thought when these two met it would have ripped a hole in the space time continuum.

Michelle Obama makes Meryl Streep pee in her pants.

I’m not sure a woman is normal if she WOULDN’T pee upon meeting Michelle. Maybe not Hillary, but the rest of us… how could you not?!

“And … when you’ve worked hard, and done well, and walked through that doorway of opportunity, you do not slam it shut behind you. You reach back, and you give other folks the same chances that helped you succeed.”

The First Family took in an exhibition game between the U.S. and Brazil men’s basketball teams in Washington, D.C. Monday evening.  Above, Michelle Obama reacts to seeing herself and POTUS on the “Kiss Cam” at Verizon Center — before the two decide to smooch for the masses.

More amazingly, perhaps, Brazil — up by as many as 10 points during the match — was only down by 7 points in the 4th quarter.  The U.S. eventually won the pre-Olympics warmup, 80-69.

"If Sarah Palin were black, her daughter’s out of wedlock, “baby daddy drama” would have been presented as an example of both pathological behavior and a dysfunctional family that is symbolic of the social problems in that community. If Sarah Palin were black, never would the poor decision making by the Palin family be marked off as challenges overcome, or deeds to be valorized. If Sarah Palin were black, her neo-secessionist husband would have been the death knell for her political career, because as we all know you can’t trust “those people.” If Sarah Palin were black, her lack of intellectual curiosity, willful and cultivated ignorance, and lack of grace both written and spoken, would not be taken as “folksy.” Instead, Palin would be viewed as unqualified for any public office. If Sarah Palin were black she would be tarred and feathered as an “affirmative action baby."

If Sarah Palin Were Black (via azspot)

Just goes to show how far Palin’s whiteness can take her. Zero intellect, two high school drop-outs, an unwed teen mother, a quitter of the one major job she had. Master of hateful coded language targeting opponents as not “real Americans”. Belongs to a church outside of the mainstream. Still a top GOP candidate.  (via liberalsarecool)

Meanwhile, Michelle Obama, a Princeton and Harvard Law School graduate, lawyer, and university dean who made over $200K/year, gets called “ghetto” and a “welfare queen”. (via squee-gee)
